The Idea

Mind the Lab™ was founded by Theo Anagnostopoulos, a science communicator and a social entrepreneur.

The idea was to bring science to the (real) general public, by organizing an outreach event in a place where thousands of people from different backgrounds and with no necessary pre-existing interest in science pass by THE METRO!

The Mind the Lab project aims to act as a science teaser to attract people’s interest and redirect them into science communication activities. Its name was inspired by the well-known “Mind the Gap” world famous notice in the Underground.

Mind the Lab was launched and piloted in 2017, across many Athens metro stations, by SciCo (Short of Science Communication), a non- profit educational organization, whose aim is to communicate scientific issues to the public via innovative and entertaining means.
